Could sharing help global warming?
With global warming front and center in the public mind. I believe we have missed the real issue.
We can argue over the science, we can argue if global warming is man made or part of the planet's normal warming cycle.
We can say this is all a normal warming and melting and we can adapt. Much has been written about past warming and cooling of our planet. The real difference in the warming, for whatever reason, is people. As of 8 DEC 2009 there are (according to the United States Census Bureau) to be 6.802 billion people on this planet. China, and India both have over a billion each. Most of the world's population lives in poor or developing countries.
This, in my opinion, is the real issue.
The other countries also desire the same basic standard of living the west has enjoyed for the past 50 years.

Food ,water, and shelter are basic human needs for many they are difficult to come by.
Half of families in India do not even have basic plumbing or electricity. Food is scare and or hard to produce. The developed nations have been the biggest polluters. Industry, manufacturing and the mining of natural resources have taken there toll of our planet. The big industrial nations want the lesser developed nations to cut their emissions while not willing to cut their own. The western world seems to think that they have a right to energy and advance technology, and the rest of the world can wait or take the scraps they throw away.
I guess what it really comes down to is sharing.
Are we in the western world willing to drive less?
Are we willing to walk or take a bus?
Are we willing to do the right thing for the planet and give up some of the luxuries we have become accustomed to?
Understanding that there are only so many resources the planet has to share with us ALL of us planetary humans.
Sharing energy, technology, food, shelter, money, and recapping our honor, valor, trust, and strengths might be the only thing that can save us.
drip drip drip the ice keeps melting.
